Privacy
This site asks for one thing, and only when you choose to give it: the email address you enter to join the reader list, plus your first name if you add it. It also counts visits with Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics, described below.
Reader list
When you join the reader list, your email address, your optional first name, the date, and the fact that you ticked the consent box are sent to MailerLite, the email service used by K.J. Crask. MailerLite stores that information and uses it to deliver the bonus scene you asked for, release news, and reader-only email. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately.
Bonus scenes and downloads on this site are for readers on the list. When you join, the site sets one cookie, named kjc_reader, that remembers you unlocked them for one year. It holds a signed token and no personal data. Delete it in your browser and the unlock form simply appears again.
Site analytics
This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and to see which pages, book links, and downloads readers use, so the site can be improved. Google Analytics sets its own cookies and processes the data under Google's privacy policy; IP addresses are anonymised. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, the analytics script is not loaded at all. No advertising or retargeting is run from this site. The hosting provider, Cloudflare, also counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and does not track you across sites.
What this site does not do
Beyond the analytics and the unlock cookie above, this site sets no cookies and runs no other scripts. As with any website, the hosting provider (Cloudflare) and MailerLite see ordinary connection data such as your IP address and browser type when your browser talks to them; this site does not collect or store it. Your information is never sold or shared.
Bonus content and purchase links
The ROOFTOP bonus scene can be read on this site, downloaded from it as an EPUB, or sent to a reading app through BookFunnel, which applies its own privacy terms. Purchase links open Amazon, BookBub, or Goodreads, and those services process activity under their own privacy policies. This site does not receive your purchase details.
